COMPASSIONATE APPOINTMENT IN CORPORATE OFBs

Will the Minister of Defence be pleased to state:
(a) the number of applications which are pending for compassionate appointment to dependents against death of bread winners in the Defence undertakings, in the last three years, with details, undertaking-wise;
(b) whether the Ministry has issued any guidelines to continue providing compassionate appointments to dependents, after corporatization of erstwhile Ordinance Factory Board (OFB);
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) the number of applications pending with the Corporate OFBs, especially in Tamil Nadu;
(e) whether the Ministry would review such cases pending in Defence undertakings for favourable consideration on humanitarian grounds, if so, the details thereof; and
(f) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): Applications pending for compassionate appointment to dependents against the death of bread winners in the Corporate Ordinance Factories are as under:

(b) & (c): No guideline has been issued by MoD for continuation of compassionate appointment to dependents post corporatization of OFB.
(d): 105 nos.
(e) & (f): As per DoP&T’s advice, the appointment etc. in respect of employees of DPSUs are concerned, will be governed by rules/instructions applicable to employees of Public Sector Enterprises and Recruitment Rules framed for the posts transferred to DPSUs.
