Cash on Delivery (COD) facility is provided to cater to the needs of bulk customers requiring collection of payment for high-value goods. This service allows for the collection of amounts up to Rs. 50,000/- upon delivery of consignments.
The COD facility is extended to Express Parcel, Business Parcel, and Speed Post customers under the following conditions:
1. The customer must be a contractual customer with an agreement in place with the Department for transmitting COD articles.
2. The amount to be collected from the addressee for any COD postal article should not exceed fifty thousand rupees (Rs. 50,000/-) and should not include fractions of a rupee.
3. COD articles must not contain coupons, tickets, certificates, or introductions designed for the sale of goods through a Snowball System.
Additionally, apart from the postage and insurance fee where applicable, the sender of a postal article intended to be transmitted as a COD article shall be required to pay the following additional fee upon delivery of such postal article.

The above fee shall be exclusive of taxes and the taxes, if leviable, have to be paid extra as notified by the Central Government from time to time.
4. Insurance of Cash on Delivery articles shall not be compulsory irrespective of amount of recovery from addressee.
5. Amount, recovered from addressee on delivery of such article by post, shall be remitted to the sender through ePayment.
